Lammer Law's designer Duncan Muirhead and his Daughter Sasha went on a July trip on Lammer Law in Galapagos. In five days of incredible diving in the Northern Islands they saw 17 Whale Sharks up to 50ft long and massive schools of Hammerheads, Galapagos Sharks and Silkies. We are getting whale shark sightings as early as March and as late as December. To learn more about Galapagos diving on Lammer Law, click the button on the home page.

Hyperbaric Chamber
For all our divers, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of $35, as we are very fortunate to have a new Hyperbaric Chamber installated in Galapagos operated by SSS (Subaquatic Safety Services) that provides top quality medical assistance with their Recompression Chamber Network around the globe and will contribute to the proper maintenance and operation of this recompression center. The chamber is multiplace and multilock, which means they can run more than one patient, and also at different protocols simultaneously.
The benefit of having access to a recompression facility in Galápagos, without the risks of flying to the continent for emergency treatment is invaluable. We are sure any experienced diver will appreciate the life saving advantage of this new service. However, the costs of the Chamber cannot be supported by charges levied only on casualties. In a larger population center a hyperbaric chamber is used for many other medical procedures and this use helps defray the costs. This situation is not true in Galapagos and several other remote diving areas around the world and, therefore, the only way SSS can justify the cost is by a levy on every diver visiting that area. This payment system is already in place in other remote areas. We believe that any 'thinking' diver will realise that the presence of the Chamber increases his or her own personal safety and would be glad to contribute towards the cost.
